I found a site that listed the following artists: Michael Bair, June Brigman, John Calimee, Tom Morgan, David Ross.
I don't know about that. In the latter half of his run, Mantlo was just writing AF for the paycheck and relying on his editor to feed him ideas.
Additionally, all of the subsequent writers...
I don't believe that John Byrne hated or hates Alpha Flight. I agree with LM and Koenig that there were multiple factors at play: Jim Shooter, Chris Claremont or someone else handling his creations,...
I really liked those covers as well!
Phil, that cover is atrocious...not just the colors.
Bruce Patterson5155
Tom Morgan51545153
Numerous covers by Tom Morgan and Bruce Patterson were crappy and, from cover to cover, AF #106 (Northstar's coming out) was hideous.
This cover has a great dynamic layout. Yes, Calimee's illustration skills weren't yet up to par but there are far worse AF covers than this.
No hyperlinks to the Alphanex directory work for me. I just get an error message but maybe I'm just not tech savvy enough.
Who is the artist of the Shaman piece?
Anyone know if John's newer art referenced in this thread is available somewhere else?
Le Messor, I just realized that I already did this questionnaire once seven years ago! At least I'm fairly consistent in my feelings about AF.
Thanks, Le Messor.
1. How long have you been collecting Alpha Flight?
I only collected vol. 1 religiously.
2. What was your first memory of Alpha Flight? If recent, what was your first reaction?
I believe the first...
Varo,
There's being an old-time fan who wants the characters depicted in a certain way. Then, there's sheer lack of logic. We can all take this revamped Marrina ride, but, the heart surgery and...
LM,
I agree with your assessment. I was underwhelmed, not so much that I wouldn't give the series a try, but, there were some jarring moments. Shaman leaving his body during open-heart...
Axel Alonso sounds like a good choice, especially with a background at Vertigo. He seems like a more story conscious editor than Joe Quesada. Hopefully, this change will benefit the titles and...
I'd have to go with Phil on this and have it explained as them using cells/DNA samples to regenerate her body. Snowbird couldn't have possibly been dug up from a grave as Walter possesses that body...
Like I said earlier, there seems to be a series of idiotic creative decisions, which became progressively more idiotic.
Also, how was Snowbird resurrected when Walter still has her body?
Legerd,
Technically, this has yet to be worked out/resolved in a book within continuity. There are a few ways to resolve this and bring them back, but, requires a lot of creative retcon to bring...
So, Aurora and Sasquatch are just hanging out somewhere in Canada?
Thanks, Legerd. 5 and 6 sound very ambiguous to me. Was the sending bakc of the temporal clones actually stated within an issue of a comic book? Or is that conjecture?
8. I have no words. ...
All,
I have an idea for an AF story, which I'd like to work on, but, it seems AF is nothing short of a continuity nightmare at this point. So, here are my questions:
1. Last known whereabouts of...
