Properly a limited series maybe 8-9 issues. Making it an on-going would be a hard sell and Marvel's success ratings for new on-goings isn't great unless it's a very well established character or the name is affilated with a succesful team (ie. Avengers).
One-shot. That way, we wouldn't all get our hopes too high, but we'd still get some Flight.
Monthly on-going.
But I also like the anthology format. I would also take an 8pp story monthly in a book with a few other characters/teams in it.
Me, Monthly ongoing, starring Puck, Sasquatch, Marrina, Nemesis, a new Guardian (as Hudson is running Department H), Shaman, Aurora.
- first arc: going after Heather and all that entails
- second arc: AF fights the Master and his new allies
- third arc: AF takes the big step to shut down some things that need to be gone (Apocalypse safe houses, Zodiac Key for example), succeeds but gains the true enmity of SHIELD, mutants, and others in that destroying these things they make =some good guys look like fools; team on the run but not like Stark running from Hammer, more like this frees them up to do what needs to be done for a while
None of the above - I don't think the team is worthy of a book right now.
What we need is for Alpha Flight's villains such as The Master & Dreamqueen to show up in other books as major threats in their own right.
Then a year down the line the team needs to make key guest appearances.
Then a year or so after that maybe a mini.
I agree with Phil, that's why I said no on-going. Marvel needs more AF characters to appear in other books as a way to market them (also appear in a respectful manner). With Jeffries, Puck and Northstar in X-Men/X-Force it can help bring awareness to the characters, the team and their history. However, the problem with it is other people will in turn see why we like them and make sure they remain in their book and AF would become like a farm league for other books.
Although I have highlighted the above portion, I agree with all said by King Mungi and Phil.Quote:

The above quote...it just saddens me, true as it is.
Wait. Let me edit that. I agree with all said by King Mungi in the post above mine, and i agree with all Phil said in the post above that one. To agree with EVERYTHING ever said by the two of them...well, I'm not THAT agreeable!
As much as I love individual character appearances, what's left of the team need to be together in appearances, like in Hulk recently.
a reminder that the team exist every now and again, and then take part in a major event.
I'm glad there's still a lot of interest in the team. Full Disclosure: I can't afford any of the fantasy series/formats at this time, but I'd like a one-shot followed by a continuation of volume 1 with 29A (alternate timeline, 7 times a year, preferably 28 pages). I know, I know...it will probably never happen. Wouldn't be able to get it, if it did. :(
Like the Hulk, but as more than background. Which is, face it, all they were in that appearance.

Also, honestly, unless / until Marvel is willing to do the team justice, I'd rather not see a series at all.

"It is difficult to prophesy, especially about the future."
I'd like a limited series that deals with Heather. I'd like to see her search out Madison (who I don't think is appearing anywhere now), and Windshear (who should have his powers back after AvX) to form a new team to rescue Claire from some villain who's holding her so as to force Heather to commit crimes for him. Mac and AF only know that Heather has been committing said crimes, and assume it's due to the Master's genetic revamping. After Heather enlists the aid of some other former Alphans/Betans, AF catches up with them. There is the prerequisite hero on hero violence before Heather tells Mac about Claire, and the two teams work together to defeat the big bad.
However, as I've said before, and Phil has said above, I'd want the team to get some appearances in other comics to develop a new fan base. So many new readers know nothing about them that they need to be spotlighted a bit before any sort of AF book would be worthwhile. And like Le Messor said, I want to see these kinds of appearances only if the writers do the team justice, otherwise it's a step back.
*Sigh*
See, how hard would it have been to just include one photo of an Alphan in this spread from Age Of Ultron:
