History
The Wrecking Crew is a superhumaly powered criminals led by Wrecker. Meeting while in Riker's Island Prison, four convicts made a succesful jailbreak and located the Wrecker's enchanted crowbar and were struck by lightening, they were endowed with the Wrecker's power. After aquiring attires the crew set out to recover the Gamma Bomb, Thunderball created. They intended to use the bomb to blackmail New York City, but their plans were stoped by the Defenders, but not before they defeated the Defenders in their first confrontation together. However, the Crew was eventually defeated and were taken to seperate prisons. Dr. Strange mystically banished the crowbar to another dimension, but it was recovered some time later by the Puppet Master when he used his radioactive clay to coerce the Wrecker into battle with the Fantastic Four.
The Wrecker easily escaped custody after his defeat and spent the next few weeks freeing the rest of the Crew. In order to re-establish their credibility, the Crew decided to take on the Wrecker's original nemesis, Thor and beat him publicly. Encountering Iron Fist on route, the Wrecking Crew met defeat in the Avengers Mansion where Iron Man was testing some Danger Room equipment set for Thor himself. Once again incarcerated, the Crew managed to escape and got their opportunity to battle Thor. They were defeated, and all but Thunderball was taken into custody, who later freed the Crew.
