[edit] HistoryJohn Walker was an American superhuman operative who replaced Steve Rogers as Captain America for a short period when Rogers took on the mantle of the Captain. Failing to live up to the good name of Captain America, the government faked his death and he took the name Jack Daniels. Putting on the uniform Rogers had worn as The Captain, Daniels became the US Agent and was assigned to the West Coast Avengers as a spy for the government. When the Avengers placed themselves under the auspices of the United Nations, Daniels was placed on inactive reserve status. His reaction to this was to beat Hawkeye severely and he was expelled from the team altogether. He returned to the West Coast Avengers after aiding the team against the an enemy called the Pacific Overlords. When the Avengers decided to disband the West Coast team, Walker and a number of others resigned in protest from the active list and they formed a new team, 'Force Works', under the leadership of Iron Man. This team has since disbanded. The US Agent came into contact with Alpha Flight following a United Nations mandate stipulating that there would be no outside intervention in the affairs of Tierra Del Maiz, following the takeover of the country by Diablo. The US Agent was in the country to enforce this mandate. Canada, which was opposed to the mandate had sent in Alpha Flight to gather evidene of 'Human Rights Violations'. The US Agent came upon Walter Langowski laying explosives at the bases of signal towers, which were preventing transmissions highlighting the suffering inflicted by Diablo, from being broadcast. The US Agent attacked Langowski, who transformed into Sasquatch. A battle began and they traded punches, blow for blow. While they were fighting, Northstar had run around the countryside, replacing all the detonators the US Agent had removed. When the explosives went off, the US Agent was hit by one of the explosions and rendered unconcious. Alpha Flight then went on to complete their mission.1 During the Civil War, US Agent is one of the top agents for the pro-registration act, and his stellar work has resulted in the capture of dozens of criminals. Stark then orders US Agent in an important missions stating, "you're going to Canada, joining the new Alpha Flight program as an american liaison. The Canadian government no longer has the assests to deal with the hordes of super-villians currently flooding their borders." Stark was also looking at it in a financial point of view as Canada greatly contributes to America's oil, energy and infastructure. Of course US Agent objects, but a botched capture of Purple Man prompted Walker to take the mission and to go to Canada as Purple Man fled to the Great White North.2 His first mission led him to Toronto and into a conflict with the super strong Daisy, who nearly beat him if it wasn’t from aid given to him by his teammate Arachne. He actually considers Arachne to be a traitor, as she was against the Superhuman Registration Act while he supports it. Later at the C.S.I.S. Headquarters, US Agent revealed he would become the acting leader of Omega Flight since the planned leader Sasquatch has gone missing. 3 [edit] Footnotes1 Alpha Flight #102-103 [Vol.1] 2 Civil War: Choosing Sides 3 Omega Flight #2 [Vol.1] [edit] Powers/AbilitiesWalker gained super-human abilities due to testing from the organization named the Power Broker as well as gained an enhancing exo-skeleton from S.H.I.E.L.D.
