[edit] HistoryMichael used to live in North Pole, Alaska and was an employee at the local post office who unbeknownst to him was an energy-absorbing mutant whom the Collective wished to use as a vessel. When Scarlet Witch took away the powers of most of the mutant population, the energy from the lost powers collected in Earth’s orbit and unexpectedly crashed into a local post office in North Pole, Alaska and all but destroyed the town. Everyone he cared about in his town died, his mother, his girlfriend and his best-friend Jon. The Collective could not exist without a body and wished to bring the energy to Magneto to use to avenge the mutant population. Michael however fought every step of the way, and barely was able to hold together the energy. After the destruction of North Pole, S.H.I.E.L.D sent six trained soldiers with Hulk-buster armor, but the Collective’s easily destroyed them. After quickly crossing the Canadian border, Alpha Flight was ordered to make peaceful talk with him. He attacked Alpha Flight overwhelming them and leaving them for dead. S.H.I.E.L.D was forced to summon the Avengers with Ms. Marvel to halt it's movements in Cleveland, Ohio. Iron Man went alone in attempt to have a peaceful talk with him as well. As the Collective saw Iron Man he stopped his movements for the first time since it landed and informed Iron Man his name was Michael. The two were making progress when Ms.Marvel arrived attacking him. In clashing with the Collective she absorbed a portion of his energy and became Binary once again. The Avengers divide into two teams: one to discover the exact nature of the threat and the other to handle the physical confrontation. Binary and Iron Man were easily defeated. Eventually Sentry arrived, taking take the Collective into space. The Collective brushed him aside and continues back to Earth. Elsewhere, Vision and Spider-Man were at work at S.H.I.E.L.D collecting Iron Man’s data of the fight as well as comparing it to the old Avengers files located in Vision, also using intel collected by S.H.I.E.L.D. They discoverd Michael’s origins and the source of his power. As the Collective was about to reenter Earth Iron Man and Sentry intercepted him, yet allowed the Collective to continue his quest to the destroyed island of Genosha. The Collective found the de-powered Magneto and began to transfer it’s essence and power to him as only Magneto would be able to harness the full power of the Collective. Magneto desperately tried to fight it off; when the Collective revealed its origins and that the consciousness of Xorn was in control of the energy. The transfer returned Michael to normal, while the Avengers clashed with the newly powered Magneto. Magneto himself wished to be stopped. A plan was set in motion to use Quake to create a pinpoint earthquake in Magneto’s brain, while Ms.Marvel absorbs the energy and spreads it out. Iron Man then trapped the energy into an energy shield and the Sentry tosses it into the sun. Afterwards, Magneto was rendered unconscious and taken into custody with Michael pointer, who was now aware of his energy absorbing mutant power. Pointer was implemented into a new Weapon Alpha program and was eventually approached by Sasquatch who gave Michael a suit constructed by Mister Fantastic resembling Guardian’s armor and an opportunity to join the new Omega Flight to redeem himself. [edit] Powers/AbilitiesA mutant Michael possessed the power of the Collective kept some residual energy for himself after being purged from the entity. What powers that entails have yet to be revealed. Mister Fantastic using the blueprints of the Guardian armor constructed a suit to help control and use his powers. What the functions the suit also has is yet to be determined. Energy Absorption: Michael being a mutant has the power to absorb other mutant energies. He absorbed the millions of mutants powers that were lost in M-Day known as the Collective. Energy Blasts: Micheal can dicharge powerful energy blasts that incinerated buildings, several demons from Surtur's army and dimensional rifts with a single burst. Flight: Micheal has the ability to fly at unknown speeds |
