[edit] HistoryBill’s heritage extends to the Korbinite race, whose galaxy named Burning Galaxy had been destroyed by Surter in order to forge his Twilight Sword. The Korbinites who survived the destruction of their galaxy determined that they needed a guardian to protect them, and their scientists created Alpha Ray, who was mentally unstable. Deciding the creature needed a soul, the scientist their finest men in grueling physical and psychological tests, only Bill survived. He was then converted by bioengineering into the powerful cybernetic form named Beta Ray Bill The Korbinites’ Great Fleet consisting of ten thousand starships set out to find a new home world, while the entire population entered into cold sleep until their voyage ended. Bill led the convoy on his ship Skuttlebut, but was shortly assaulted by Surtur’s demons, which appeared from the exploding Burning Galaxy’s galactic core. Bill was then detected by S.H.I.E.L.D.’s hyperspatial probe. Believing the Korbinites a threat to Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D. sent Thor to investigate. The duo eventually would clash, but during the battle Thor was separated from his hammer for more than 60 seconds and reverted back to Donald Blake persona, which was quickly subdued by Bill. After the battle ended, Bill went to search for Mjolnir hoping to claim it for himself. He found the hammer transformed into a cane, and struck it against a wall in disgust, which resulted in him being transformed, as he was proven worthy of the power of Thor Due to Bill having the rightful claim of Mjolnir, and Bill wished to use it's power against the demons attacking the Great Fleet, so to settle this Odin had Bill and Thor battle in a fair fight in the land of Skartheim, which Bill ultimately won. As a reward Odin had the dwarf Eitri forge the Stormbreaker, which shared many of Mjolnir enhancements and bestowed it upon Bill. Thor and Sif helped Bill battle the demons, and they destroyed the portal to the Burning Galaxy. As Bill prepared to depart, Odin added another enchantment to Stormbreaker so that he could assume his mortal form, having transfered the enchantment from Mjolnir which had enabled Thor to become Donald Blake. Sif joined Bill in his journey at first, but they were soon summoned back to Asgard when Surtur's armies prepared to invade Asgard. Bill led Asgard's forces on Earth while Thor faced Surtur himself. Surtur destroyed Asgard's Rainbow Bridge in order to trap their armies on Earth, but Thor and Bill eventually returned the Asgardians home with their hammers. While he was on Earth, Bill met other champions such as the Power Pack and the Avengers, and fought against the Dire Wraiths, the Green Liberation Front, and Kurse Coming Soon.. [edit] Powers/AbilitiesIn his "Thor" form, Beta Ray Bill possesses the same superhuman powers that Thor himself does. Durability: Beta Ray Bill is immune to all diseases, and resistant to conventional injury. He possesses metahuman durability, which allows Bill to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures, and virtually all toxins, corrosives, punctures and concussions. He can survive the depths of space unaided. Energy Projection: Bill has the ability to discharge multiple forms of energy as well as absorb and discharge. Fighting Skill: Formiable hand-to-hand combatent, superbly skilled warrior, highly proficient swordsman and in the use of his hammer. He has easily defeated Fenris, who is one of Thor's most powerful enemies Korbinite: Korbinites excel in hot climates and he has the ability to detect other Korbinites regardless of their location. Speed: Bill possesses the ability of warp speed, that allows him to transcend light speed Stamina: Bill possesses god-like stamina, allowing him to sustain almost indefinetly before fatique impairs performance. Stormbreaker: Bill weilds the Stormbreaker, a mystical hammer made of Uru metal, which was enchanted by Odin to prevent those who are unworthy of lifting it. The Stormbreaker abilities allow the hammer to return to him once thrown, command the elements of storm, generates mystical energy blasts, opens trans-dimensional portals, enables Bill to fly and can transform him into the form of Simon Walters by striking the hammer against the ground; As Walters, Bill can resume his true form by striking his hand on the ground Strength: Beta Ray Bill possesses incalcuble strength, which allows Bill to press over 100 tons. It's said he has equal strength th Thor himself. In the battle against Stardust, Bill and the hearld had an epic clash that resulted in the destruction of planets. |
